How HawkRithm Works
The Four Screens
Today
Your daily decision screen. Opens in one of four states: a trade is available (3 spread cards to choose from), no trade today (our signal or risk rules say skip), an active position is running, or your last position just closed.
Position
Monitors your open trade: premium collected, live P&L estimate, days remaining, and progress toward expiry. You can close early here if needed. Live prices are pulled from your connected broker when available or from our data vendor.
Vault
Your capital health dashboard. Shows account equity (live from broker), portfolio heat, win rate, and total P&L across all trades. Portfolio heat is fixed at 4% — the maximum you can risk on any single trade relative to your account size. We do not envisage changing this for now but we can amend this in the future.
History
A full record of every completed trade: strikes, dates, P&L, and outcome. Your win rate and cumulative P&L are summarised at the top.
Reading a Trade Card
Risk Rules — Always Active
4% portfolio heat. The system never risks more than 4% of your account equity on a single trade. Contract sizing is calculated automatically — you cannot override this.
Loss cooldown. After 3 consecutive losing trades, the system pauses new entries for a cooling-off period. This protects you from doubling down in adverse conditions.
One position at a time. You cannot open a new trade while one is already running. This prevents correlated exposure stacking up.
Data & Timing
Nightly update. Each night at 6 AM UTC (after US market close), the pipeline downloads the latest SPY market data, recalculates spreads, and refreshes the signal. The “Data as of” timestamp on the Today page tells you when this last ran.
Live premiums during market hours. Between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM ET (2:30–9:00 PM BST), the credit shown on each trade card is refreshed every 15 minutes using live market pricing. The “Data as of” label switches to “Live” during this window.
US market hours. Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM–4:00 PM ET (2:30–9:00 PM BST). No mid-session breaks.
Connecting Your Broker
Go to Broker in the top nav to connect your brokerage account. This enables live account balance tracking and, once fully activated, trade execution directly from the Today screen. Your broker credentials are never stored by HawkRithm.
Without a broker connection, you can still use HawkRithm in simulation mode — all trade logic, signals, and position tracking work identically.
